Storm drains work by collecting rainwater from surfaces such as roads, parking lots, and sidewalks through a network of grated inlets.

The water then flows through a series of pipes and channels, eventually ending up at a treatment plant or discharging directly into a waterway. The system is designed to prevent flooding in urban areas by quickly transporting rainwater away from these surfaces.

Regular cleaning and inspection of the system can prevent clogs and blockages, which can lead to flooding during heavy rain events. In addition, proper disposal of hazardous materials can prevent contamination of our waterways.

K-DUG Corporation capabilities include:

  • Televising and cleaning
  • Mapping
  • Removal and replacement of Storm Water Pipes ranging from 8” to 72” diameter
  • Slip lining existing Storm Pipes with
    HDPE (high density polyethylene pipe)

Storm Water is an aging infrastructure that goes unnoticed until a catastrophic event has occurred. These events could lead to a sink hole (large or small) and erosion.
Typically, storm water sink holes are caused by holes within the pipe segment that allow dirt to

be drawn in as water pushes out and drains back into the pipe segment. Identifying these storm drains, televising and cleaning them and determining the needs for repair in a timely manner will prevent sink holes and costlier solutions.
